The project PolyPFiber has received a positive grant notice and started its work. Led by Hoffmann & Voss GmbH and RWTH Aachen University PolyPFiber focuses producing an antimicrobial demonstrator knit of PLA multifilament yarn addi-tivated with polyphophate.
The innovative core of the PolyPFiber is to use biobased polyphosphate with antimicrobial properties and biobased plastic (PLA) as renewable inputs for the textile process chain for the production of functionalized textiles. The demonstrator knits will provide evidence that an antimicrobial fiber consisting solely of renewable resources can be produced by using biobased polyphosphate and bioplastics.
