Driving innovation to convert the textile value chain from petroleum-based to bio-based requires an effort of many. To enable radical and lasting change, we need to focus on interdisciplinary research alongside the whole textile value chain.

The textile value chains are fractured with highly specialised individuals. That’s why we believe in the power of collaboration in the framework of BIOTEXFUTURE.

The basis for success is a diverse team of member organisations working together under a shared vision. We are looking to unite individual projects and initiatives, sharing what we learn from each other across the textile value chains, and thereby build solutions of relevance for the future.

Be part of the Community

BIOTEXFUTURE is an open innovation space with an active community. We invite you to be part of this community by becoming a BIOTEXFUTURE member. The benefit of being a member has the following advantages:

Legal Structure

A large innovation space such as BIOTEXFUTURE requires a framework. Our framework is the managed through the Innovationsbündnis. By joining the innovation space, members are expressing their support for the vision of BIOTEXFUTURE and their interest in participating in joint projects.

Only legal entities (e.g. companies, universities, research institutions, foundations or associations) can become a member of BIOTEXFUTURE. The legal entity does not have to be located in Germany. We welcome member organizations from all over the world!

The BIOTEXFUTURE membership is completly free!

The BIOTEXFUTURE membership is prerequesite for submitting a project propsoal and being eligigable for funding. To receive project funding from the German Ministry of Education and Research, the specific organisation needs to be located in Germany.

Your organisation needs to sign the Innovationsbündnis in order to become a member of BIOTEXTFUTURE. In this Innovationsbündnis, all members acknowledge the coordinating role of the Project Management Office (PMO). A Non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is included in the Innovationsbündis and allows collaboration in a protected environment. The Innovationsbündnis will be shared with you during the application process. Have a look at the box below to find more details on the steps to become a member.

The Innovationsbündnis does not replace a Consortium Contract required when collaborating in a funded project.

By signing the Innovationsbündnis all BIOTEXFUTURE members acknowledge that rights or obligations regarding individual collaborative projects arise solely on the basis of a separate, individual Consortium Contract, which must be negotiated and signed by all parties of the respective collaborative project. This Consortium Contract will cover, among other things, IP rights, publication rights and collaborations with third parties. The Consortium Contract must be negotiated and signed after receiving a grant agreement from the PtJ to receive funding for your project. See our calls for more details on funding opportunities.
