BIOTEXFUTURE Member Day 18 June 2024 in Aachen
What could future scenarios of the textile Bioeconomy look like and how can we prepare ourselves for them? How can we close the gap between ambition and practice for a circular bioeconomy in our work?
These questions kept us busy at last week’s BIOTEXFUTURE Member Day at ITA in Aachen. A big thank you to Dr. Machteld Simoens for kicking our day off with an inspiring keynote, to Dr. Mirjam Ambrosius and Marco Schmitt for great LCA and scenario workshops, and to our members for coming together to for a day of collaboration, learning, and (re-)connecting!
While the keynote highlighted the most important narratives for building a circular economy and also the main barriers, path-dependencies and systemic lock-ins to consider, the workshops tackled two important topics for the further development of BIOTEXFUTURE and integrate the expertise of the members into the scenario approach, as well as into the possible usages of the LCA guideline in the innovation space through hands-on workshops with lots of discussion providing the workshop organizers with a lot of material. Overall, we had a great day of meaningful interactions with members old and new.
We’re already looking forward to seeing you at our next Member Day – stay tuned and always be up to date about current BIOTEXFUTURE events by checking out our website [https://biotexfuture.info/]
