BIOTEXFUTURE is an innovation space funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF) on biobased textile research. The project is led by the adidas AG and RWTH Aachen University.

We work together with industry and research partners. Our vision is to transform the textile value chain from petroleum-based to bio-based textiles and to bring about this change together.

With the Bioeconomy Innovation Spaces funding concept, the BMBF intends to support bioeconomy research and thus drive the transformation to a sustainable, biobased economy.

BIOTEXFUTURE – Fall Forum 2024, Munich

2 December 2024, 10.30H – 17.30H  – “in person meeting”

Sports Textiles and Bio-Innovations: Shaping the Future of Performance

The sporting goods of the future are „bio-based“ and „circular“, but how do the concrete products look like in reality? What are the specific biological options to replace crude-oil based synthetics or hazardous chemicals for the production of dyes and finishes? And how do they perform?

We are showcasing already today, how the future of the sporting goods sector may look like tomorrow and invite you to participate in our BIOTEXFUTURE Fall Forum on 2 December 2024!

The Forum is a combined event with the ISPO MUNICH (3-5 December 2024). At the trade fair, BIOTEXFUTURE will exhibit tangible results at the Sustainability Hub (Hall A2).

We are looking forward to meeting at both events in Munich!

The innovation space BIOTEXFUTURE consists of projects funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) within the framework of the “Nationalen Forschungsstrategie BioÖkonomie 2030”. BIOTEXFUTURE is part of the funding program “Innovationsräume Bioökonomie”.

The TransitionLab Insights Event Series helps to share results regarding the social environment for innovations across the textile value-chain and therby helps to spark new ideas and broaden perspectives on societal issues associated with bio-based products across BIOTEXFUTURE.
