We kindly invite you to the BIOTEXFUTURE Summer Forum 2024 on 20 June 2024 which will take place as an online event.
This time we will focus on stretch-fibers, elastane as well as recycling as a textile and environmental topic which is considered as a major key issue for the global textile industry.
Elastane is currently used as a stretch component in around 80% of all apparel and is almost omnipresent in our clothing; hardly any item can do without it. However, the traditional stretch fiber production requires the application of harmful solvents such as DMAc (dimethylacetamide) and DMF (dimethylformamide) which are about to be restricted in the EU. Therefore, environmentally friendly alternatives are urgently needed.
In our Webinar we will address this topic and provide a holistic overview from the technical, environmental, legal and political perspective and discuss potential eco-sound alternatives.
